      Verdict

Colloquial can land the spoils at the expense of Inchloch, with Dawn At Sea worth a mention. Colloquial did not see the racecourse as a juvenile but caught the eye on his debut at Lingfield last November when fifth in a 12 furlong maiden. Better was to come on his return to the fray at Salisbury last month when, dropped back in trip to a mile and a quarter, he was the only one to make a race of it with Scriptwriter, finishing 13 lengths clear of the winner's stablemate Tavalu in the process. That form already looks good, with Scriptwriter going on to land a Windsor handicap off 83 recently, so there should be plenty more to come from Henry Candy's charge who can make up for lost time. James Fanshawe does boast a good strike-rate here, and his Inchloch has shaped well on both starts at Newmarket to date. He will appreciate the step up in distance, so is the main danger ahead of stable companion Dawn At Sea who looked a bit one-paced when a staying-on second at Beverley last month. The rest, Young Mick apart, are hard to fancy, and it is Colloquial that is very much the one to beat.
