Verdict
Alec Stewart's Raakaan showed promise on his debut at Windsor last month and has to be respected along with Luca Cumani's more exposed Antigiotto but the newcomers would not need to be out of the ordinary to take a hand here and a chance is taken with Late Night. The selection is trained by Willie Jarvis, who has had a couple of winners recently, and he is sure to have the daughter of Groom Dancer fit for this. She makes more appeal on pedigree than James Given's Boundary filly Through The Slips. Antigiotto has shown signs of ability but has had plenty of chances and a bigger threat may come from Raakaan, who did little wrong at Windsor and may improve for the run. The Lady Herries-trained Warningcamp has shown a similar level of ability in both starts so far and has to be respected along with Disparity, from the in-form stable of James Fanshawe, who is probably better than she showed on her debut at Kempton. A moderate start to the day's action then and a chance is taken with the newcomer Late Night.
