Verdict

This is a good race and all five runners, Mark of Zorro, Every Note Counts, Seattle Express, Countykat and Scottish River have got chances, but we are going to side with the latter. Scottish River has got bags of ability, but in the main has been disappointing to follow. But there were signs that the selection was returning to form at York earlier in the month, and he could be worth supporting here. He has not lived up to expectations after looking a useful prospect a couple of seasons ago, but if he can recapture his best form he will be hard to beat. Seattle Express is also capable of taking this race but is a frustrating type, while Every Note Counts should go well but won't want any further rain. Mark of Zorro is running well at present, while Countykat has a tendency to race a bit keen and will find this tough. All in all, a fascinating race, and we will take a chance on Scottish River who looks to be returning to form at just the right time.
