Verdict
A woeful race from a betting perspective and only a minimum stakes play is recommended with JR Stevenson, who needs everything to drop just right for him but has more going for him than Chigorin, who is hard to win with, and Gustavo, who has plenty to prove after running a stinker on his reappearance last month. Manhattan Jack and Lucky Leo, the only other runners that are in the handicap proper, have not really impressed at this trip and both have to prove that their heart is still in the game. Therefore, we stick with JR Stevenson, who reverts to turf on a fair mark and has at least proved that he can pull a good run out of the bag when everything goes his way.
