In depth
Verdict
There doesn't look much strength in depth here and while improvement can be expected from Ormolu, this looks set to go to Manaar, who has shown a decent level of form in all his three runs. A half-brother to five juvenile winners, he has plenty of pace and looks ideally drawn in stall five, to go with the speed wherever it proves to be. Ormolu didn't shape too badly on her debut over six-furlongs, where she was getting the hang of things late on. Whether this drop in trip will bring out the best in her, we shall have to wait and see. Bowlegs Billy will need to improve on his effort at Beverley, but there is no reason why he can't. However, this is a much tougher race and he may have to settle for a place at best. Of the others, blinkers will have to have a dramatic effect on Zak Facta, if he is to be competitive, while the rest of these may be more at home in selling company. Manaar shouldn't have too much difficulty in losing his maiden tag in this grade.
