Verdict

Piazza San Pietro isn't one to trust implicitly so we'll look to take him on. Aahaygirl has possibilities as does Pokfulham but MONTMARTRE gets the nod. Piazza San Pietro looks sure to start favourite and the presence of Jamie Spencer in the saddle for an in-form yard should ensure that he's well backed. However, he's yet to convert any of his five frame finishes to victories (including in this grade last time) and is worth opposing at the prices until doing so. Money for Miss Scarlet would be of interest but she was beaten a long way on her return and Montmartre represents a more solid option. Brian Meehan's charge showed plenty of pace behind the useful yardstick El Dececy at Chepstow. That was just his fifth career start so there could be more to come and Martin Dwyer has been a positive booking for the yard this term. A visor may enable Aahaygirl to recapture her best form but she's essentially been regressive at three despite more encouraging efforts in blinkers the last twice. A return to this grade is in Pokfulham's favour whilst Alan Munro has hit the target with one of his three mounts for the yard this year so he's another to monitor but the each-way suggestion against the jolly is Montmartre.
