    Verdict

CARLOVIAN (NAP) came good on his 24th career start at Catterick this month but just his second start for Mark Walford. The yard is performing strongly with a select band of runners during July and his gelding can follow up off just a 2lb higher mark now he's found the winning habit. Dark Confidant also scored on his first run for a new yard on his first attempt at a mile so it is a little surprising to see him revert to a furlong less here. Danot was not far behind the selection last time which brings him into calculations along with course and distance winner Intimately and still useful veteran Time Medicean.
