In depth

Verdict

This is a poor contest and very few can be given a chance on these terms. There is a suspicion Blonde En Blonde may be best on the All-Weather, as she has done most of her racing on the Fibresand, while Tirailleur, although successful here last week, and will be more at home over this shorter trip, does have something to find with Relative Hero, who gets the vote. Hughie Morrison's gelding was woken up by the first-time blinkers over course and distance last month and if they have the same effect here, he will take plenty of beating. There was nothing wrong with Tirailleur's effort here last week and the filly won't mind the easing of the ground. However, she does have something to find with the selection on these terms. The easing of the ground may also help Blonde En Blonde, who does take a drop in class having struggled off her mark in handicaps. The winner of a couple of handicaps during the winter, the last off a mark of 64, she would have every chance if she could translate her sand form to turf. However, Relative Hero gets the vote in the hope that the blinkers continue to have the desired effect.
