Verdict
American Sonja was very impressive against older rivals in a Gowran handicap and though taking a big leap in class her new handicap mark entitles her to take her chance. Her stablemate THORNBROOK made a winning debut here and was only beaten a length in the Group 2 Debutante Stakes at the Curragh. She's joint top-rated here with Zarinsk, who won a Listed race here in September and may not have been suited by heavy ground in a return visit last month though she still had Nightcliff and Dame Kiri behind. Tarawa looked a nice prospect when scoring here in October and should be winning once her stable gets going
