Verdict

JORDAURA won with a bit in hand at Kempton a fortnight ago and can be fancied to follow up here; Harry Patch, who bids to maintain his unbeaten status, merits plenty of respect, while Swiss Diva and Major Phil are others that add spice to this tricky handicap. Major Phil won at Great Leighs just before Christmas and has scope to improve from his current mark. Group-race winners aside, Luca Cumani has been relatively quiet so far and, as this fellow has a long way to go to establish himself as true a stable star, he may just need a bit more time. Swiss Diva is consistent and showed up well on her handicap debut at Doncaster last month. Her style of running created a few traffic problems at Town Moor, but she is an honest type and should again be hard to keep out of the frame. Harry Patch won convincingly on his introduction to this tier of racing but is now 8lb higher as a result. However, there may be plenty more to come from the Michael Jarvis-trained colt and he is very much one to keep in mind. However, Jordaura also showed boundless promise last time out and, with his ability to handle an artificial surface proven, he gets the nod today.
