In depth

Verdict

Eltizaam is a tentative choice in this wide open nursery, with Guyana, Aberdeen Park and Tanning others to consider. The selection will have to defy top weight to land this prize, but there is nothing outstanding in opposition and he has achieved that weight from putting up some good efforts in defeat so far. He handled this trip well on his two latest starts and he sets the standard here. Guyana, on the other hand, has already been tried at seven furlongs without success at both Newbury and Sandown, finishing well beaten on both occasions. His latest start over six here brought some reward with placed money, but it remains to be seen if the step back up is in his favour and we will oppose on this occasion. The form of Aberdeen Park's second to Magical Romance at Leicester last time is working out well and the filly should improve for the step up in trip, so she may well turn out to be the main danger, while another who will benefit from going further looks sure to be Tanning, and is handles the track he can make the frame. For the selection though, we take Eltizaam to small stakes.
