Verdict
Unless the newcomer Sofistication proves to be out of the ordinary, this should go to Mr Lambros, who gets the verdict over Sir Laughalot. The last mentioned ran well when finding just Compton Banker too good in a handicap over course and distance two starts ago but disappointed here last time and may not be too reliable. African Star showed signs of ability at Southwell last time and, along with the reappearing Dusk Dancer, has to be respected. The Terry Mills-trained Sofistication gets all the allowances going and would not need to be anything out of the ordinary to take a hand but the vote goes to Mr Lambros. Andrew Balding's colt ran a race full of promise here over six furlongs in November when a close third behind Petardias Magic. With improvement to come for that outing, Mr Lambros gets the vote.
