        Verdict

        There are doubts to be raised about every runner in the field for one reason or another so, as Perfidious appears to be the one best suited to this trip, he is given a far from confident vote over Topton, Easter Ogil and Blue Trojan. The selection held his form well on the turf last season and rewarded his connections with six placed efforts and two victories from 14 starts in total. He also has a good record when fresh and took to the old surface here with a relish when tried on numerous occasions in the past. Another plus is that ten furlongs is his ideal trip, which directly contrasts the form of Easter Ogil, Blue Trojan and Topton, who have never won beyond a mile despite umpteen previous attempts. Therefore, Perfidious's proven stamina is the key to him leading the field home in spite of the quiet spell endured by his Epsom-based trainer.
