In depth

Verdict

The eye is drawn to NUTSHELL after a promising handicap debut here when staying on resolutely to claim the runner-up spot. Harry Dunlop's charge appreciated the step up in trip and has every chance of building on that effort and going one better. Sukhothai didn't pull up many trees in her juvenile campaign but the move to James Fanshawe has delivered improvement, albeit at a modest level, and she looks one of the more likely ones. Art Thief is most interesting of all. He was well backed just four days ago on his handicap debut at Yarmouth but was well beaten into fifth spot. Keep an eye on the market again as he makes a quick reappearance and steps up in trip once more.
