In depth

Verdict

Bold Bidder, Mappin Time and Face The Problem finished second, fourth and fifth in a hot little sprint won by Godolphin' s Ahtoug at the Chester Cup meeting and this should produce a fascinating rematch as the form of that contest dominates here. FACE THE PROBLEM was expected to go well that day but failed to fire and wouldn't be the first to struggle with the unique demands of the Roodeye. His previous form sets the standard, notably a fine effort against older horses on his reappearance. He is also better off here with the pair that finished in front of him at Chester and is the value option to reverse placings. Gottcher is a shortlist possibility with his yard in such splendid form at present.
