In depth
Verdict
Highland Shot ran well off a 2lb lower mark than today when second to Night Kiss at Ascot last month and has obvious claims despite the burden of Topweight in this fillies¿ handicap. However, while Andrew Balding's horses are in good form at present, the lack of all-weather experience for the daughter of Selkirk is a worry. There are no problems on that score with Inchcoonan though and Karl Burke's is the one that gets the vote. The daughter of Emperor Jones has a good record here with a win and a second (staying on behind Mad Carew last month) from just two starts on the Polytrack. Her latest effort was in claiming company but this is little better and she is taking to go one better under Kieren Fallon. Gay Kelleway's Miss Glory Be has been a consistent performer of late but would probably prefer further and a bigger threat to the selection may be Joe Naughton's Littleton Zephir. The daughter of Sandpit always seems to run her race and has the assistance of Darryll Holland in the saddle.
