Verdict
This doesn't look a strong maiden, but interesting nonetheless. Ballerina Belle is out of a maiden mare, who stayed 14-furlongs and she wouldn't have to be that good to make a winning debut. Gracious Dancer, a half-brother to the useful Jazil, showed next to nothing on his debut and will need to find improvement to figure in this, but Guard is better than he showed on his debut as he lost his footing turning for home and was allowed to coast home. It would come as no surprise if he was involved in the shake up. Radiant Bride should be better for her experience here last month as should Kristoffersen, who wasn't knocked around when beaten three lengths by Nawow last month. Kohima caught the eye on her debut at Newmarket under a considerate ride and this half-sister to five winners must be followed if the market speaks in her favour, but the vote goes to Pretence, who will find this easier than when tackling the likes of Grand Passion back in October. Jeremy Noseda has given this Danehill colt plenty of time to get over that effort and he is expected to prove too sharp for his rivals in this.
