Verdict
Voice Mail bids to give Andrew Balding his first winner since taking over the reins from his father, but he has been of the track since September and is expected to be sharper for the outing. Beaten in a photo on his last two outings Dunedin Rascal would not be winning out of turn. Eric Wheeler's six-year-old doesn't win as often as he should, but he comes here in good form and he should again be involved at the business end. A Woman In Love appreciated the drop to this trip when winning here last week and she must go well under her penalty, from her rails draw. However, this race looks to revolve around six-times course and distance winner Golden Brief, who looked as good as ever here last week. He was value for a bit more than the winning margin, as he idled when in front and there should be little between him and the runner-up that day Port St Charles on these revised terms. A chance is taken with the poorly drawn Time For Music, who is 6lbs better off with Golden Brief, for a half length beating back in November. Not seen since then, Terry Mills' gelding has gone well fresh in the past and is taken to win a competitive opener.
