Verdict

Platinum Boy is a regular in these events and finally got off the mark last time at Wolverhampton. There is no reason why he shouldn't be as effective on this surface, and should run well without quite being good enough to win. Senor Pedro has certainly improved since stepping up in trip and is certain to be involved in the finish. He should again take care of the disappointing Dr Julian, who has the blinkers left off today, having worn them on his last three outings. However, the vote goes to Princess Shoka, who takes a huge drop in class. Richard Hannon's filly has been a little frustrating so far, but having said that the form she has shown is far superior to anything her rivals has achieved, and she should make the most of the easiest task she has faced to date. Neil Graham, who has found winners hard to come by of late, will be glad to see the back of 2002. His Lampos is a possible improver in the first time blinkers, especially on his second to the useful Special Envoy at Brighton in November off a mark of 62.
