Guildenstern who was pulled out of a race at Chester midweek, can make the wait worthwhile, with Pamir, My Gacho and Hanseatic League others worth a mention. Guidenstern successfully defied a penalty when scoring on the Polytrack here recently, having earlier showed that he can handle soft ground when winning on his return to action at Folkestone. Trainer Hugh Morrison was not convinced that his charge would go well on that sort of ground, and even withdrew him from an assignment at Chester in which he looked to have leading claims. The ground is slightly better here so there should be no negative thoughts, and in stall six he is perfectly boxed to make a bold hat-trick bid off only a slightly higher mark. Pamir, like most of Luca Cumani's inmates, will come on for his first run back, in this case at Ripon where he finished best of those on the stands side. The ground was desperate at the Yorkshire track and he too will appreciate the better going. In addition he should maintain his form over Hanseatic League who was back in sixth place. My Gacho is slightly worse off at the weights with Captain Johnno for a narrow victory on the all-weather track here last time, and both should be involved also, but Guildenstern is the form horse and the one to beat.
