In depth

Verdict

Indigo Cat can give the O'Brien-Fallon duo another weekend winner, with Gala Evening, Fantorini, and Traprain worth a second look. I'll take a deep breath and run through the entries for Indigo Cat that will reveal the esteem in which the son of Storm Cat is held; The Dante, the Derby, the St James's Palace Stakes, the King Edward VII Stakes and the Coral-Eclipse. That suggests that he has a bit of ability don't you think, and he will surely have to go in first time to justify the hype. Gala Evening already needs a mile and a half judged by the way that he stayed on at the end of his Windsor debut recently. His dam is a sister to Dancing Brave no less and he holds a Derby entry. John Gosden has pencilled in Fantorini for the King Edward VII Stakes and he shaped well enough at Sandown last September, but it remains to be seen whether he will be up to mixing it with Group horses this year. Traprain is well thought of but is perhaps best watched, and all in all, if the vibes are right, Indigo Cat will take all the beating.
