Verdict
A wide-open maiden gets proceedings underway and, as usual, in these types of events, the market will prove all-important, but the principals look to be Elitzaam, Zalaal and Saadigg and the tentative vote goes to Zalaal. The selection is from a yard that is doing well with its two-year-olds and he ran a race full of promise on his debut when sixth behind Minnesota. He is sure to have learnt from the experience and, given normal improvement, he will be hard to beat. Saadigg rates the main danger. He was a fair third behind Hypnotic and was doing all his best work at the finish. He will relish this longer trip and he will not be far away. Elitzaam is another that could go well. He finished in mid-division behind Oude on his debut and is another that is sure to improve. Just Do It is a well-bred colt from a shrewd yard and is worth noting in the market, but for the winner we return to Zalaal.
