In depth

Verdict

This looks quite trappy and narrow preference is for FARMER GILES over Brambleberry and Lady Royal Oak. It looks as though Michael Bell's yard are beginning to hit form and his colt Farmer Giles is eased in grade today. He should find this level more to his liking and he can take the prize. Brambleberry won on her debut over this course and distance but she has since been a little disappointing and she does have a few questions to answer at present. Lady Royal Oak showed up well on her debut at Nottingham but she was then outclassed in a Group 2 contest last time out. Connections clearly feel she has plenty of ability and she is not one to dismiss lightly. Elusive Trader is an interesting newcomer from the Richard Hannon yard and is one to note in the market, but Farmer Giles looks quite useful and he rates as the one to beat.
