In depth
Verdict
The fall from grace of Our Teddy has not been a glorious one and he finds himself in 'last chance saloon' as he takes on Analyze and Ali Bruce, who are expected to give him the most to do this afternoon. Northern Desert also warrants a mention as he usually goes well here and, as he will have benefited from his recent blow out over seven furlongs, he is dangerous to leave out of the equation for this return to a mile. Ali Bruce is a lightly raced sort that has really found his racing shoes since switching to the flat in the summer. He progressed nicely to win his last two starts and has to be a serious player here. Nevertheless, he also has a career highest mark to overcome and may just be found out in this company. Analyze is a tough character that thrives on his racing and is holding his form well just now. However, he can spoil his chances by meeting trouble in running and needs a little luck on his side. Especially if Our Teddy consents to put in anything like he is truly capable of when he is on song. Andrew Balding has been forced to sit back and watch as this former Listed and Group race performer has plummeted down the ratings over the last year or so. However, he has now found an ideal opening for Our Teddy to prove that he is no back number yet and, despite him being on a long losing run, he represents good value in a field that lacks the quality of many of the rivals he has faced in the past.
