Verdict
An open contest to round off the card can go to the in-form Ashes, who can confirm her superiority over Kempsey on these terms, while Saucepot has run into form lately and can go close if she handles the switch back to this surface. The daughter of Bold Edge has run one good race and one stinker at the track, so the jury is still out as to whether she actually likes the turns of Lingfield. The first-time blinkers are in place for Kempsey, who has run well in defeat in each of her last three starts and he should again be involved in the shake up. However, he is now in danger of becoming frustrating and, despite being 6lb better off with the selection, there have to be a few question raised about his resolution in a finish. Therefore, the vote stays with Ashes, who was good value for the winning margin last time and, with Darren Williams more than capable of delivering her with a well timed run, this half-sister to Royal Storm can be produced late on the scene to round off the day with a winner.
