In depth

Verdict

Perennial all-weather performer Hugwity will undoubtedly be popular with the backers but seems to be on the downgrade at present and, even though this is a poor contest, the 10-year-old looks readily opposable. Peter Makin has had a dreadful season but is beginning to fire home the winners so it would come as no surprise to see City Reach improve on recent efforts. Freecom Net is better here than on the other all-weather tracks and cannot be dismissed lightly, while Diamond Dagger could do better now that he is returned to the Polytrack. However, the TEAMtalk selection is for Forever My Lord, who makes his debut on sand but is bred to appreciate it. Well treated on the best of his turf form, the four-year-old may be worth a small investment.
