        Verdict

        With neither of the two newcomers, Mistress Page or Carollan, making much appeal on breeding this is probably best left to those with racing experience. Henry Cecil's Far Reaching is becoming expensive to follow, may not be suited by any further rain and is held by Gig Harbour on running at Windsor last time. The Barry Hills-trained runner has himself been well beaten since and is also probably best left alone. John Gosden's Volcanic showed little on his Salisbury debut and needs to improve and more solid claims are held by Ian Balding's Mancini, who has been tried over a variety of trips this season, but the one that gets the TEAMtalk vote is the Michael Jarvis-trained Michael Maher. The son of Indian Ridge should appreciate the drop in trip and with any further rain a help he looks the one to be on.
