Verdict
Windy Britain is an ultra-consistent sort and can return to the winner's enclosure here, with Invader and Alrafid expected to give her most to do. Luca Cumani's four-year-old is a five-time winner on turf, and has not been out of the first three in three attempts on the Polytrack. The latest of those efforts came 18 days ago when she was third to Compton Bolter in the Listed Churchill Stakes. She would have preferred a faster pace, and although she might not get that here, has less to do and is the one to beat. Invader needs no introduction but has yet to win here in eight attempts. However, he is another that has taken on good company, including when finishing in mid-division in Kempton's Jubilee Stakes Handicap in May. Alrafid was beaten narrowly in a blanket finish here in the race won by Star Of Normandie eight days ago, and like the selection, could have done with a stronger gallop. Jack of Trumps, not to be confused with great Irish jumper of yesteryear, came third at Chepstow on his first outing in 11 months, and if taking to the Polytrack, can figure as well. The one they all have to beat though is Windy Britain under Eddie Aherne.
