Verdict
Abbotts Ann, Genuine Call and Yungaburra are three with solid chances and the selection is the latter, so impressive on the all-weather earlier in the week. The booking of Darryll Holland for front-running Abbotts Ann can only be a good move by the in-form Barry Hills, however the contest that he won last time was poor and so he must improve again if he is to take a hand. Chris Wall's Genuine Call looks to have a serious chance based on his course-and-distance win in October, however that was not the strongest of contests and he is another who will have to improve if he is to trouble the selection. Tim Pitt's gelding has cruised through his last two outings and whilst those were not particularly strong, one gets the impression that there is a lot more to come from him. Robbie Fitzpatrick takes over from able claimer Greg Fairley, and the jockey and trainer combination has proved very fruitful so far this season. In an interesting nursery then, Yungaburra is the confident selection.
