In depth
Verdict
Salon Prive is worth chancing in a weak enough affair, with Go Go Girl, Montana, and Monte Mayor Lad nominated as others to consider. Charles Cyzer has plenty of success on the all-weather, and Salon Prive seems sure to give him more this winter. The son of Green Desert caught the eye when runner-up at Goodwood on only his second career start, having made his debut here at Lingfield on the turf course. He made his Polytrack bow just less than three weeks ago when third to the odds-on Annishirani, and should now be ready to strike. The drop back in distance is not seen as a problem, and he will get every help in the saddle from Frankie Dettori. Go Go Girl has had plenty of chances already, and the way she dropped away tamely at Goodwood last time suggests that she is worth opposing on what is her all-weather debut. Montana was also a beaten favourite last time, when down the field at Windsor, and Monte Mayor Lad can be added to the bookies' benefit club after his lacklustre performance at Wolverhampton. With nothing standing out on the bare form, Salon Prive makes just as much appeal as anything else and is the pick.
