Verdict

The remarkable La Estrella, who won this last year, is attempting to match Stand Guard's record of 26 all-weather victories. Now a twelve-year-old, he should be in the retirement home now but showed himself in top form when landing a claimer on his first Tapeta start at Wolverhampton last month. However INVESTISSEMENT, a mere youngster of nine, was only just over a length behind in third off levels and receives 4lb here. Lee Carter's charge will also be aided by the longer trip and Charlotte Jenner, who has a good record on the all-weather, can claim her 7lb so the record may have to wait for another day. While You Wait is by no means out of this as he was only beaten a neck a year ago and though worse off at the weights he then proceeded to win four times over hurdles.
