Verdict

Westend Star won a point-to-point maiden at Askeaton a little under a year ago and looks the pick of Donald McCain's two runners. He's also preferred to another winning pointer, Jack Steel, but will do better over further and the experience of ARISTO DU PLESSIS can see him home in front. He's been gradually improving over timber and only weakened close home over further at Catterick last time in a race in which Masirann was last of the finishers. Doctor Phoenix has scope and looks the pick of the remainder.
