In depth

Verdict

YAGAN is a typical improver from the Prescott yard and though only scoring narrowly for his hat-trick here last week will have found the 1m4f trip on the short side so a 6lb penalty shouldn't prevent a four-timer. Bird For Life gained his sixth all-weather success over this track and trip last month, with Gavlar close behind in third, and is unlikely to go down without a fight from just 2lb higher though he's poorly handicapped with Tin Fandango on their 1-2 at Chepstow last summer. Smith hasn't been beaten far in his two starts over the trip here and at Chelmsford.
