      Verdict

      McBain has shown ability to handle a variety of distances and surfaces and is the clear TEAMtalk selection to prove his versatility and land this valuable conditions race for his in-form trainer and astute pilot. A winner at Windsor in May this Lear Fan colt went on to produce his season's best performance in July when finishing a little under 6 lengths behind Vintage Premium in the John Smith's Cup at York. Given a break following another good run at Doncaster he returned to give an uncharacteristic poor account of himself at Windsor before showing his well being with a solid run in a valuable race at Town Moor over today's distance finishing fourth behind Capitano Corelli. His main danger looks to be another AW debutante Murghem. Mark Johnston's entire has had a busy campaign including two runs in Germany. He has put up some useful performances in defeat but his sole win came in a very slowly run fast ground handicap at Haydock over 14 furlongs. The rest of the field look as though they may struggle despite having AW experience. At his very best Burgundy has a fair chance and he ran well enough on his only outing over this distance while Mi Odds is a AW regular whose overall level of form looks below what is required here.
