In depth
Verdict
Course and distance Piquet can see off the challenge of Confuzed here, with Indian Blaze and Cumbrian Princess others worth noting. Piquet was fancied here last time but appeared to be given too much to do by John Egan who overdid the waiting tactics, and in the end John Bridger's mare was narrowly beaten by Mad. The time before that she was brought very wide into the straight and could never get into the thick of things, and it goes without saying that she is a winner waiting to happen at this level. George Baker takes over now and surely he will have her nearer the pace from her inside draw. Confuzed can be tricky ride and in addition takes a fair step up in trip today. He is still a maiden, but veteran Indian Blaze's last four wins have been here and he can never be ruled out. Cumbrian Princess was right behind her last time but did not get the best of runs, so there should not really be too much between the pair today. However, there can be no excuses for Piquet this time, and with everything going for her, she should make amends.
