Verdict
Quite a competitive opener with both King Egbert and Tribute having shown enough to suggest they can win their maiden, but a chance is taken with the newcomer Dallaah, who is from the same family as the smart pair of fillies, Dust Dancer and Bulaxie. Michael Jarvis has his juveniles in tip-top shape and has a strike rate of nearly 50%, and while this filly will certainly stay further in time, she is taken to prove too sharp for her rivals. Tribute is clearly one of the Loder lesser lights and while he has done enough to suggest he can win his maiden, this looks quite a hot contest for Lingfield and he may have to be content with a place. The main threat should come from King Egbert, who had a nice introduction at Doncaster, behind the runaway winner Cartography, doing just enough to secure third spot, without being knocked around. He is sure to have learnt plenty from that and will certainly benefit from this extra furlong, but Michael Jarvis trained the winner of that event and he will know how he stands with the Dunlop raider. Of the others Richard Hannon's Piccleyes is sure to be sharper for his debut at Salisbury and this half-brother to the useful Vision Of Dreams is certainly one to keep an eye on, but with the Jarvis juveniles carrying all before them, Dallaah looks the one to be with.
