Verdict

We like the look of Royal Warrant here ahead of Secret Place, Rowan Pursuit and Western Roots. The selection ran very well on his Polytrack debut over a mile here 10 days ago and, having looked promising when winning his maiden on Turf, can continue to progress and can go well here. Western Roots is better than he has so far shown as he met trouble in running last time out. He looked promising when scoring on his debut here over five furlongs last March and, lightly raced, should have better to come. Secret Place progressed to win a Wolverhampton maiden last time out and, while the bare form of that contest is nothing out of the ordinary, he's going the right way and the handicapper has not been too harsh in the rating he has given him. Ever Cheerful came good in first-time cheekpieces here over six furlongs last time, his first win in 13 attempts. To be fair, he had run well in defeat prior to that but might just find one or two too good for him again. Fools Entire has been running well without winning since landing a six-furlong seller here in November, but, for his pains, the handicapper keeps nudging him up the weights. Rowan Pursuit landed a mile seller here in November and followed up in a course and distance handicap from a mark of 63 on January 3. She's got plenty of ability and could yet go well in attempting to defy a seven-pound rise in the weights. Garrigon could sneak a place from his lowly mark, while Wares Home might have been slightly flattered by his win over Petardias Magic at Hamilton in July. However, a literal reading of that form would bode well for her chances, and Petardias Magic will, by now, have run in the 2:35 race on this card. Even Easier has a speed-laden pedigree and looks worth opposing on his first run for 184 days on what will be his all-weather debut. For us, then, it all points back to Royal Warrant, who can land this race for Her Majesty The Queen.
