Verdict
With the ground likely to ride soft here, low numbers can have a big advantage, so with that in mind Killala is fancied to take advantage of stall one and get the better of Caribbean Man and Mujarad. Mark Tompkins' colt would probably have to improve on his second to Logsdail at Carlisle on his second and final juvenile start, but the Among Men colt should appreciate the extra furlong here and may just provide the value in a race that is difficult to assess. With the Stoute team in such superb form, there are sure to be plenty of supporters for Caribbean Man, and it would be no surprise to see him show significant improvement on his seventh behind a better fancied stablemate on his debut at Newmarket's Guineas meeting. John Gosden's horses are beginning to run well after a slow start, and Mujarad, an expensive yearling who looked a bit backward in two runs last year, looks the type to develop into a nice three-year-old handicapper, so any market support for him would be interesting. There are also some quite nicely bred newcomers in the field, most notably Ed Dunlop's Zamindar filly, Crystal Seas, who also has a good draw.
