In depth
Verdict
Ken Scott has more to do off a 6lb higher mark than when scoring over course and distance before Christmas and preference is for Nonantais, who gets the vote over Twenty Degrees. The last mentioned has been allotted a fair mark for his debut in this grade and should appreciate the return to two miles having failed to stay further at Fontwell last time. Gary Moore does well with his runners here so the son of Beveled has to be respected. You would need to have a Vivid Imagination to see Martin Pipe's runner of the same name prevailing on the evidence of what we have seen so far this term and of more interest may be John Best's Greensmith Lane, who has been given a break since disappointing at Exeter in September. Executive Decision may be best watched on his return, while It's Wallace still seems to be in the grip of the handicapper so the vote goes to Nonantais. Mark Bradstock's gelding looked potentially useful a couple of seasons ago and, having failed to take to fences, made a satisfactory return to hurdling when a close fourth behind easy winner Spring Pursuit at Leicester earlier this month. There may still be more to come from the son of Nikos and he looks worth a punt in this company.
