Verdict
Detailed, Carriacou and Rio de Jumeirah have all shown ability from limited opportunities but it might be worth taking a chance with one of the newcomers and the vote goes to Mick Channon's House of York. The American-bred colt owned by Sheikh Mohammed is well related and comes from a stable that knows how to ready a horse for their first run in public. Ed Dunlop's Mutafanen, a son of Linamix, is another debutante that makes plenty of appeal on pedigree. Of those to have raced, Richard Hannon's Detailed showed up well in a Newmarket maiden first time up, as did Paul d'Arcy's filly Carriacou. Clive Brittain's Rio De Jumeirah was outclassed in the Chesham Stakes last time and should appreciate the drop in class today. Desert Battle has shown enough to suggest that he can figure but is likely to find at least one too good with House Of York the choice to beat them all.
