Verdict
Dontstopthemusic is fancied to take this weak opening event, with Baron Rhodes and Red Trance the most likely to chase her home. Red Trance is the most experienced filly in the race, and Andrew Balding's charge has a couple of pieces of good form to her name. However, she was disappointing at Warwick last time and she may just need a rest. Baron Rhodes improved significantly on her debut when finishing third on yielding ground at Beverley last time. That form would give her an excellent chance here, although it remains to be seen whether she can reproduce that form on this faster surface. So we'll side with Mick Channon's Dontstopthemusic. This Night Shift filly cost 70,000 guineas as a yearling and was well backed on her debut at Ascot last week, but reportedly lost her action when finishing last of five that day. She should be capable of much better, though, and we take her to score in what should prove to be a weaker race.
