Verdict
With his middle distance pedigree, it was no surprise to see The Great Gabrial campaigned over much further than tonight's six furlongs, but he proved to have enough speed to win over this trip at Wolverhampton and there are sure to be plenty that fancy him to follow up. GHOST TRAIN may have lost his way with Mark Johnston, and having produced a fine first outing for Tim McCarthy, he makes plenty of appeal if his new trainer can rediscover any of the form that he showed during at his peak at Middleham. Song Of Parkes continues in the headgear she wore on the turf while Proper Charlie is very much one to note in the market. The assessor now rates the five-year-old off a mark of 48 on his first run for Lee Carter yet his last appearance in a handicap was on the Polytrack off a 22lb higher mark last February.
