Chjimes is worth a speculative punt in a race of this nature. Teasing and Glencalvie arrive here in good heart and are others worth noting in the betting, while Royal Island would not be without a chance if he could recapture the best of his Irish All Weather form of last year. Recent evidence suggests that may not be forthcoming, though, and he looks a risky option. Glencalvie won here earlier in the month and is likey to have his supporters. Still, he is not really noted for consistency and has a bit to prove. Teasing is on a winning mark and, as he has held his form well this year, the Jeff Pearce-trained gelding looks the best alternative to the selection. However, Chjimes, who was rated 93 at his best, is easily the best handicapped horse in the race and, having shown good speed in his last two starts, he can help to pay for the travelling expenses down from his yard's Lincolnshire base.
