It is very hard to get a persuasive handle on the form for this race but, in making a choice, we will opt for Manic, with her main dangers reckoned to be Worth A Grand, Saucepot, Ruman and Lady Algarhoud. Manic is well-weighted on her best form and showed good battling qualities when scoring over seven furlongs here two runs ago. The drop to six should not be a bother to her and, from a good draw, she can go well. Those towards the top of the handicap are a mixture of selling winners, all-weather performers and seemingly fairly rated-horses, so it is hard to choose between them, though Lady Algarhoud might prove the best of them. General Haigh is hard to fancy, while Ellens Princess's best run so far has been over seven furlongs. Methodical seemed to show improvement last time but the form has yet to be boosted, but Saucepot is reasonably weighted based on her best from of last summer, and Worth A Grand has proven he can go well here and is edging back towards a winning mark. He too is drawn well and is respected as is Ruman, who ran well on his handicap debut last time and could have better to come on this better going. Overall, though, we will stick with Manic.
