    Verdict

This track has traditionally been a happy hunting ground for Gerard Butler and he can pick up again with Cyclical, who is nominated in preference to Sharplaw Star and Talcen Gwyn. The last mentioned already has plenty of experience and has taken well to being faced with new challenges. However, the introduction to this surface in this company does not make his task an easy one and he may play little more than a supporting role today. Sharplaw Star is sure to be a popular choice if her Ascot third to Damson is taken into account. Still, her latest start is nothing out of the ordinary and she is not one to be taking too short a price about as she takes on colts for only the second time. So we turn to Cyclical in the search for value as he has done very little wrong in each of his three pervious starts. The Pivotal colt already holds Bond City on a previous formline and is fancied to get back to winning ways on a track that should not be a problem for him if the record of his trainer's runners at this track is taken as a reliable guide.
