Verdict
An ordinary maiden kicks-off the day at Lingfield where Spinning Dove is fancied to grant the globe-trotting Jamie Spencer passage for another winning ride. Priors Dale and Lord Of The Sea are others that have to be given plenty of respect as officially the best horses in the race, but both have been expensive to follow and questions have to be raised about their resolution in a finish. The same comments apply to Once Around, who dropped away very tamely at Wolverhampton last time and has a little to prove now. Therefore, the selection goes to Spinning Dove after a string of fair efforts in defeat that helped create the impression that she is well worth a try over this trip. Spencer is riding at the top of his game at the moment and the Irishman's ability in the saddle may be just what is required to initiate a change in fortune for Spinning Dove's followers.
