        Verdict

        Elegant Gracie is a tentative choice in the finale, with So Vital, Newtonian and Pyrrhic also holding some sort of claims in a hard one to call. Elegant Gracie has been tapped for toe on each of her three outings over a mile and a quarter on the Polytrack, but shaped well enough last time out to warrant closer inspection here, with the step up in trip expected to be in her favour. Jamie Spencer is an eye-catching jockey booking for Rae Guest's mare, and she should go close. So Vital finished runner-up over the course and distance on only his second start in November, but they finished in a heap so it is hard to know what to make of the form. Newtonian has shaped well in three starts at Southwell, not yet failing to reach the frame, but the quicker surface here might find him out, while Pyrrhic in contrast has raced here 13 times in all and will appreciate the step up in trip. He has been keeping lowly company though and is beginning to look exposed, unlike Elegant Gracie who at least has some scope and is the one that we return to as the likely winner.
