Verdict

This is a decent contest for the time of year and several have solid claims. Belmount won a similar race at Warwick last month and has been successful around here in the past. Ozzy Thomas has also won over track and trip but is still a novice and will do well to concede weight to some tough handicappers. Mont Royale has struggled off higher marks since winning at Cartmel in May while Braqueur D'or has only won in novice company so far. Bob Tucker would have a chance at the weights but it’s about time ALWAYS ON THE RUN was getting his head in front. He’s done most of his racing over shorter trips but 3m shouldn’t be a problem around here and his sound jumping will keep him in contention.
