In depth

Verdict

A bumper that appears to lack strength in depth and the two that hold obvious claims are SHENAO and Kielder Rose although Court Lad and Poppy Parade may prove capable of better. Shenao ran his best race to date on debut at Limerick in a race that hasn't worked out at all well and he has done little for the form in two subsequent outings. He appears to have been found a weak race and may be able to grasp the opportunity. In light of that Kielder Rose has to be feared as she battled on dourly to finish some fifteen lengths ahead of Court Lad when second at Stratford. The experience should have brought her on and leaves Peter Bowen's charge with plenty to find whilst Poppy Parade also needs to make marked improvement from her modest debut. Deep Squeeze is out of a dam who's related to Nick Dundee and Ned Kelly and looks the part on paper but he attracted little interest at the sales and may remain best watched even allowing for the weak nature of the race. Shenao is the token nomination. (Ian Ogg)
