In depth

Verdict

Not a bad little handicap chase where the leading players look to be Roussea, Kova Hall and Glimmer Of Light, and the selection is Kova Hall. The five-year-old has winning experience in Germany this year, when under the tutelage of Christian Von der Recke and has trip and ground to suit here too. His first run for a new yard since winning in July makes him interesting and he is taken to score. Roussea took a Hereford selling chase last month but has gone up 9lb since then and although he can go well that looks a big ask. Glimmer Of Light goes well here and is back to somewhere near the mark he won from over c&d in February, so he should be involved, while Albarino could make the frame if at his best but has been out of sorts lately and preference here is for Kova Hall.
